Memory card is basically developed for high storage capacity at high speed transfer rate. It has 2 terabytes of storage capacity and 104 megabytes of write/read speed, with this future is going be very different in digital media, we could store our video,photos,music,data,etc for a life, there is no need to delete anything.
According to Joseph Unsworth, research director "SDXC combines a higher capacity roadmap with faster transfer speeds as a means to exploit NAND flash memory technology as a compelling choice for portable memory storage and interoperability," and according to James Taylor, president of SD Association, "With SDXC, consumers can quickly download higher quality content to their phones, including games, video and music -- giving consumers a richer media and content experience," and according to Shigeto Kanda, "SDXC is a large-capacity card that can store more than 4,000 RAW images, which is the uncompressed mode professionals use, and 17,000 of the fine-mode most consumers use. That capacity, combined with the exFAT file system, increases movie recording time and reduces starting time to improve photo-capturing opportunities,"
SD standard with its nearly 80% memory card market is number one position in consumer choice, with its easy to use formate, it feature almost all the known gadgets with videos, entertainment system, PCs etc
SDXC will be released in the first quarter of 2009, just imagine what the future is going to be in digital media.
