Thermal imaging system for cars and motorcycle by FLIR "PathFindIR"

Thermal imaging system is a system through which you can see at Night or in dusty and foggy condition, this system uses heat, and not light so you can see beyond the reach of your head light, this system is already is been used by military, but now company like FLIR who is partnered with Mercedes has lunched this system at CES 2009 called PathFindIR for cars and motorcycles.

The PathfindIR is very easy to install in your SUV,truck,cars or motorcycle, it uses same technology which company FLIR offers to military,it has 36 deg field of view lens, gives better vision at night for seeing pedestrians and animals walk at roadside or crossing road. No price is announced yet but it will soon hit the market.

This is just the type of technology we need to make driving safer and cars more advanced. As an engineer devoted to new innovations, I believe helping drivers be able to see in even the most dangerous conditions with heat-based technology is a great idea!

I love this gadget. Though only 10% of road miles are driven at night, those miles account for half all road fatalities. Using public roads is a sight response game you play with your own and others’ lives, so being able to improve your night vision will clearly increase safety for everyone.
