“Virtually waterless” laundry cleaning technology by XEROS

The next generation Eco friendly washing machine which could reduce the water usage by 90 %, this technology is developed by researchers at Leeds University, which is home to one of the UK’s most advanced textile institutes, they have established a company called Xeros Ltd to marked this laundry cleaning technology.

This technology cleans clothes using reusable nylon polymer beads with an inherent polarity that attracts stains. According to them the tiny nylon polymer beads are designed to gently but fully penetrate into a large wash load. Only a small amount of water is required to dampen the garments, loosen stains and create the water vapor that activates the “molecular magic” of the beads. The beads are then tumbled with the clothes, allowing the polarizing properties of polymer to attract and absorb dirt. Once diffused into the bead itself, stains are locked away from the garment, preventing redeposition, after washing completes this beads are automatically removed by the machine, this beads could last for about 100 loads adequate for the six months of average family usage.

Company plans to launch this laundry cleaning technology by 2010

New Concept for food checkup

The new future gadget that can scan our food and can tell us it is good or not yes that true Adam Brodowski has come up with the three part Sook Cut concept which is capable of whipping up lip-smacking meals out of various ingredients which you have absolutely no idea on how to combine them tastefully.

The Sook Touch is a touch sensitive display that lists recipes, detailed nutrional information, and stores a library of ingredients. You can touch and drag ingredients to build custom recipes and save them for upload to website.

The cutting board, known as the Sook Cut, features a moisture sensor, scale and electronic tongue that is able to determine the type of food being prepared, relaying relevant information to Sook Touch that will refer to its database to conjure a new recipe.

The entire system sounds incredibly complicated. I could never imagine my parents using it but then again, this was designed for the internet generation.

The final piece of the puzzle is the Sook Dock. Not only does it charge the Sook Cut and Touch appliances, it also works as an RFID scanner to identify what foods are nearby and add them to the Sook Touch database.[ubergizmo]
